東京藝術大学在学中から作曲家本田祐也率いるチャンチキトルネエド（2013年活動休止）に参加、多くのライブパフォーマンスを行う。スタジオワークも多く、数々の作品に関わっている。

Shutoku Sato performs across a wide range of settings — from solo performances to orchestral work and studio recording — while in recent years focusing his live activity as a flugelhorn player on his own original music.

During his studies at Tokyo University of the Arts, he joined Chanchaiki Tornade, led by composer Yuya Honda (active until 2013), performing extensively. He has also been involved in numerous recording projects as a studio musician.
